Legal Studies Minor

The minor in legal studies provides an overview of  constitutional frameworks, court systems, legal professionals, and policy debates about rights and liberties in the United States and other countries of the world.

Degree Requirements

The Legal Studies Minor Requirement is 18 credit hours as follows:

LSOC 101             Introduction to Law, Justice & Society           3 cr.       

                                         or

LSOC 102             Legal Justice and Social Justice                        3 cr.

POSC 102             Introduction to American National Govt        3 cr.

Subtotal: 6

Plus 12 credit hours of LSOC courses

Subtotal: 12

Total Credit Hours: 18

Note:  Students with a minor in Legal Studies are not permitted to practice law or give legal advice with this undergraduate minor program. Only licensed attorneys who have completed law school and passed one or more bar exams can perform these functions.
